Standing atop Corcovado Mountain, Christ the Redeemer welcomed me with open arms overlooking Rio de Janeiro. The city’s beaches and favelas sprawled below, pulsing with samba rhythms. A hike through Tijuca Forest added a touch of wild adventure to the urban vibe.
